I didn't know I would miss Noel so much when my daughter moved out and took her cat with her. He is a stubborn old guy but so adorable. Even Taz missed him. I'm glad I got a few photos of him before they left. We went to visit him in his new home but he was not impressed with the move and would not come out of hiding. Hopefully, next time, as I'd love to get a chance to snuggle and pet him for a bit.
Taz is our Labadoodle (top layout) and the next is of sweet Beckham who it hurts my heart to say is gone now. It happened suddenly last month and I will never forget him. We baby sat him often and we had developed quite a strong bond.
I'm tired of scrapping winter pics, I am so anxious for spring weather. I want to get outdoors hiking with Taz and take photos. My macro lens didn't get used often during the winter. I also want to take more architectural photos too.
I don't know if it's the changes I'm making in my lifestyle and I'm anxious to get outdoors and exercise, or if we just had so much snow (so much more than we usually get), that I am done with it but when I saw the splattering of snow this morning, it looked pretty for a moment and then all I could think of was....where's spring? I hope we see signs of it soon. I think my new (keto shaped) body is going to be pretty happy going out for hikes and walks with Taz since my energy level seems to be increased. I would like some pretty blooms and warm breezes now. I am sooooo craving a photo walk soon.
I'm putting it out there. This is me, in January...no makeup, no PS touchup, nothing...just me taking an iPhone selfie as I'm out walking Taz in the snow in late January. I don't have the nerve to post a full body selfie (believe me, no one wants to see that) but at least this will give you an idea of how my body will be changing (and already is at almost 2 weeks into my keto diet). It also presents me in the best light possible outdoors with the sun shining onto my face to minimize shadows and wrinkles and shot from above to slim down my jawline and neck. So be prepared to see a pic in another week or so for comparison.
I'm still (as always) pretty immersed in my photography and digi-scrapping (even made a hybrid Valentine's Day card for my hubs this month, noteworthy b/c I have been completely digi for some time and hadn't done anything with my traditional scrap supplies) but now am fully, completely, mindboggling happy to be on the KETO diet!
So stay tuned for more updates soon. I will start sharing some digi layouts every weekend and lots of recipes coming that (of course) will be keto-friendly.
I am always surprised when Christmas is just a few days away. The older I get, the faster the time flies. I was feeling really on top of things and on the ball when Bailey & I got the Xmas tree up the first week of December. After that I don't know what happened. The days flew by and now it is almost Xmas. Every year I say that I will be organized and prepared, getting everything accomplished in a timely fashion. Guess what? Every year I fail LOL. So, I will be out there shopping tomorrow and probaby Friday, for a few things. I still need to do some baking and wrapping too. Another thing I say every year....somehow it all gets done and we have a wonderful Xmas.
Taz was very cooperative, sitting his poor little bum in the cold snow so I could take some holiday pics of him in his hat. He was well compensated with treats afterward. As you can tell from his face, he's not really not feeling the holiday cheer at the moment. He's a good boy and he forgave me.
Merry Christmas to you all and have a wonderful holiday time.
The snow has stopped and the sun is out but.....man....is it cold! I don't know what is happening but here on the west coast we don't get this kind of weather...yet we have. I woke up this morning to 23°F...yikes...that is cold! Taz didn't mind though. He enjoyed running across the frozen snow and racing across the upper garden area. I hope the sunshine warms the ice a bit so it'll be easier to shovel later as I still need to dig out a bit of the driveway. It seems weird to not have driven my car for 3 days. I really want to get out and run some errands if I can.
Woke up to snow falling this morning. After half a cup of coffee I threw some clothes on, grabbed Taz and my camera and headed out across the street to the path along the river. It was so quiet and peaceful, we only came upon one person on a bike and another girl out with her dog. Taz got very excited, running over to say hi to the other dog, who was timid and ran away. He consoled himself by find a good stick to chew on. If it continues to snow, I'll head out again in an hour or two, to take a few macro shots. If it turns to rain, I'll stay indoors. We'll see.
The sun is out this morning. It is cold, 30°F, but it is dry and clear. The birds are happily fluttering and bickering with each other around the suet. I stood at the other end of the porch and watched them for a few minutes, snapping some photos of them. I could watch them for hours but I need to get some work done and it is pretty cold out here, so I'll head back inside and warm up in my office.
Here on the west coast of BC we don't often get much snow and when we do, it is a wetter, slushier snow than I am used to, having grown up in Ontario. I don't miss the frigid cold temps and the frozen sidewalks and streets, but I do miss the clean, pretty look of snow. So when we do get some here, I always stop and marvel at the beauty of it. By late today it will be gone. We're looking at a few days of freezing rain ahead...not so pretty. So, to take advantage of this unexpected prettiness I went out into the garden to snap a few pics.
It's beginning to feel a lot like Xmas around here now. Bailey & I put up the tree. Darrell put the angel on. Then we took a few selfies in front of the tree. Taz wasn't really very enthused about posing for a pic but he endured it LOL.
